Michael Saylor’s Bold Bitcoin Forecast: $21 Million by 2046

At the BTC Prague 2025 conference, Michael Saylor, the co-founder of Strategy, made headlines by predicting that Bitcoin (BTC) could soar to an astonishing US$21 million (approximately AU$32 million) per coin within the next 21 years. This projection marks a significant increase from his earlier forecast of US$13 million (AU$20.8 million) by 2045.

Saylor outlined his perspective, highlighting that the present moment is crucial for Bitcoin’s evolution. "I think we’re going to be $21 million in 21 years. It’s a very special time in the network. Maybe the one time in the history of the network where you look out 21 years and you see $21 million," he stated.

The shift in Saylor’s outlook is remarkable, especially considering he had recently speculated that Bitcoin could reach $1 million. Furthermore, he suggested that a prolonged downturn in cryptocurrency markets seems "unlikely" in the near future.

Earlier at the Bitcoin 2024 event in Nashville, Saylor set the original prediction at US$13 million, envisioning Bitcoin’s share of the global capital market increasing from 0.1% to 7%. However, he acknowledged a rapid transformation in the market landscape over the preceding months. He emphasized, "Stuff that’s happened in the past 11 months has been extraordinary. The White House has embraced Bitcoin. This is an extraordinary development. We didn’t anticipate this."

Currently, Strategy holds a significant Bitcoin reserve and has recently increased its holdings by acquiring over 10,000 BTC for approximately US$1.05 billion (AU$1.63 billion) between June 9th and June 15th, with the purchases made at an average price of US$104,080 (AU$161,594).

There are indications that the company may continue its acquisition spree, which, given its aggressive long-term strategy toward Bitcoin, is likely not a surprise to market observers.

The implications of Saylor’s forecasts are profound, not only for Bitcoin investors but for the broader economic landscape as well. With potential shifts in political support and global market dynamics, Saylor’s insights will be a focal point for those tracking the evolution of cryptocurrency.

As Bitcoin continues to grow in acceptance and value, Saylor’s projections underscore a significant moment in the digital asset’s trajectory, setting the stage for potential market transformations that could resonate across various sectors.
