VivoPower Partners with Doppler Finance for XRP Yield Program
VivoPower, a company listed on Nasdaq, has made a significant investment of US$30 million (approximately AU$45.9 million) into Doppler Finance. This move marks the commencement of a larger ambition, with plans for a US$200 million (around AU$306.3 million) XRP treasury yield programme. This partnership positions Doppler Finance as a frontrunner in the institutional-grade XRP financial services market, enabling businesses to earn returns on their XRP holdings.
Rox Park, Head of Korea at Doppler Finance, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership in a recent press release. He highlighted the joint goals of enhancing digital asset treasury and developing decentralized finance (DeFi) solutions in South Korea. Park indicated confidence in Doppler’s ability to meet VivoPower’s yield enhancement objectives regarding both XRP and the RLUSD stablecoin.
VivoPower’s Executive Chairman and CEO, Kevin Chin, shared insights on the collaboration’s potential. He noted that leveraging Doppler’s infrastructure would allow VivoPower to maximise its reserves, with XRP remaining a core asset within their treasury strategy. With South Korea accounting for about 20% of XRP’s total circulating supply—valued at around US$30 billion—Chin underscored the strategic importance of this market for VivoPower’s digital asset initiatives, including stablecoin remittances, real-world asset tokenisation, and DeFi lending.
Ripple Expands Collaboration with Thunes
In a related development, Ripple, the entity behind XRP, has announced an expansion of its partnership with Thunes to revolutionise cross-border payments. The alliance aims to enhance user experiences and streamline global monetary transactions, building on a previously successful collaboration established in 2020.
Thunes facilitates quick and reliable payouts in local currencies through its extensive global network. The integration of Ripple Payments into Thunes’ SmartX Treasury System is poised to further optimise its operations.
Despite these promising partnerships, XRP has faced a 6% decrease over the last week and is currently trading at US$2.81 (about AU$4.30). Investors remain cautious, eagerly awaiting regulatory decisions regarding XRP-based Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) in the United States.
Summary
In summary, VivoPower’s partnership with Doppler Finance to create an XRP yield programme positions the latter as a leader in crypto financial services, focusing on yield opportunities for institutional clients. Simultaneously, Ripple has reinforced its strategic collaboration with Thunes, aiming to enhance cross-border payment systems. However, market conditions remain challenging, as XRP’s price has recently seen a decline while investors await crucial regulatory outcomes.
