Wilder World Expands Its Metaverse with New Shooter Game
Wilder World, an innovative metaverse project built on the Ethereum blockchain, has unveiled its second major game mode—a high-octane shooter—during the recent Gamescom event. This latest addition to its gaming portfolio offers intense gameplay through both first- and third-person perspectives and is currently available in “super early access” on the Epic Games Store.
The new game mode, featuring a ten-player deathmatch setup, forms a crucial part of Wilder World’s strategy, aimed at refining various game experiences before the anticipated open-world metaverse launch set for early 2026. This meticulous approach allows the developers to perfect individual gameplay mechanics, ensuring a high-quality gaming experience upon full release.
Players, referred to as “Wilders,” will find themselves immersed in Wiami, a vibrant megacity inspired by Miami’s nightlife and aesthetics. Within this neon-lit environment, participants can engage in a variety of game modes, including fast-paced racing through Wilder Wheels, strategic large-scale battles, exploration, and resource extraction.
Tokenomics and Game Development
The economy of Wilder World hinges on its governance token, WILD, an ERC-20 token that empowers users to participate in decision-making processes via a Decentralised Autonomous Organisation (DAO). Recently, WILD has seen impressive growth, with its value rising over 47% in the past month, according to CoinGecko data.
The development team is committed to delivering a visually stunning gaming experience. By prioritising photorealism and virtual reality integration, the project aims to position itself not merely as a niche Web3 initiative, but as a competitive player in the next-generation video game market.
In addition to combat and racing, Wilder World incorporates social and creative elements, allowing players to design, trade, and personalise a range of digital assets—from avatars to virtual real estate.
Engagement through Competition: The $100K Tournament
To boost participation and engagement within its growing community, Wilder World is hosting a significant $100,000 tournament. This competition will feature online qualifiers running from August 25 to September 9, culminating in playoffs and a live final scheduled for September 24. The five finalists, selected from the qualifiers, will be flown to a yet-to-be-revealed location, with all expenses covered.
Co-founder and executive producer n3o emphasised the importance of the staged rollout, stating, “Launching individual modes first allows us to refine gameplay mechanics at a world-class level before bringing everything together into the open world.” This strategy not only ensures quality gameplay but also fosters a vibrant community around the game.
Since its inception, Wilder World has successfully raised over US$30 million (approximately AU$46 million) following the launch of its WILD token in 2021. The token achieved an all-time high of US$7.44 (around AU$11.58) during its initial six months, underscoring substantial investor confidence in the project’s future.
In conclusion, Wilder World’s latest game mode and the introduction of strategic tournaments represent significant steps forward for the platform as it gears up for a comprehensive metaverse rollout. By merging innovative gameplay with community engagement, Wilder World is carving out its space in the evolving landscape of blockchain gaming.
